Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence and Matthew McConaughey were among the winners at the Golden Globes last night (12.01.14).

'American Hustle', 'Breaking Bad' and 'Dallas Buyer's Club' won the most awards at the 71st annual event in Los Angeles, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at the Beverley Hilton Hotel.

'American Hustle' won three awards out of seven nominations, including Best Supporting Actress (Musical or Comedy), which was handed to Jennifer Lawrence for her role as Rosalyn Rosenfeld in the film.

In her acceptance speech, she said: ''I don't know why it's so terrifying it's obviously a good thing. Thank you to my family and my team, thank you so much!''

The film, directed by David O Russell, also took home the award for Best Motion Picture (Comedy) and Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Amy Adams.

'Dallas Buyer's Club' also picked up two awards, which went to Matthew McConaughy, who played an AIDS victim, and Jared Leto in the Best Actor (Drama) and Best Supporting Actor categories.

Jared said his role was very ''transformative'' and joked: ''I did not ever use any prostethics in this film. That tiny little Brazilian bubble butt was all mine.''

'12 Years a Slave' lost out on six nominations but won the top award for Best Motion Picture (Drama).
