Dominic Cooper to star in "Dracula"?
Dominic Cooper is in talks to star in 'Dracula'.
The 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' star has entered negotiations with Universal to co-star in their upcoming horror film, based on the original 1931 movie of the same name, Variety reports.
Cooper would appear alongside Luke Evans, who was recently revealed to be taking on the role of Count Dracula, and fellow newcomer, 'A Dangerous Method' actress Sarah Gadon.
This project will signify the directorial debut of Gary Shore, who will be joined by producer Michael De Luca and executive producer Alissa Phillips in bringing the script - written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless - to life.
Anikah McLaren and creative executive Jay Polidoro will also step in to oversee the project for Universal.
Sam Worthington was originally intended to portray the titular character, with Alex Proyas as director, but budget constraints caused the initial plan to be scrapped.
'Dracula' - made famous by Bram Stoker's gothic horror novel - is slated for an August 8 2014 release.
Cooper's latest role is alongside Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace in 'Dead Man Down' and he is next set to star in DreamWorks' motion picture 'Need For Speed'.
