Air Bud Special Edition DVD Review

Everyone’s favorite Golden Retriever, Air Bud, is back and better than ever in the March 3rd Walt Disney Pictures DVD release Air Bud Special Edition. Air Bud is a story about a Golden Retriever that sparked a legacy when he helped a shy 12-year-old boy make the basketball team at his new school. Adopted owner Josh (Kevin Zegers) and Buddy see their friendship tested by competition, fame, and a greedy owner (Michael Jeter) who wants to make money off his lost dog’s new found glory.

Air Bud is an uplifting family story that is sure to appeal to anyone that has a loved pet in the home. It is a compelling tale about a young boy struggling to find an identity and then he creates a special connection with his unique and talented four-legged friend.

The movie is full of action and adventure as no pet story is complete without some mishaps and turmoil. The only disappointing thing about Air Bud is that the movie is rated PG. For the most part, the film is family friendly. It is just a few moments of rough (at least by little kid standards) language and some aggressive behavior at times that are questionable. These moments are mild, though. If you can withstand a couple moments with your little ones, they’ll be sure to appreciate the story. There are some perilous situations that might bother an especially sensitive youngster. Otherwise, enjoy this classic Disney character in special edition.
