Helena Bonham Carter's Sweeney troubles
Helena Bonham Carter didn't get "a single compliment" from director Tim Burton when they filmed 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street'.
The British actress - who is in a relationship with the filmmaker - had difficulty filming the movie, which also starred Johnny Depp, because he didn't want to be seen to be favouring her.
She said: "We went through a really bad time on 'Sweeney Todd'. I didn't get one compliment from him. "He really had this whole thing, like he didn't want to seem as if he was favouring me. So he'd go in the opposite direction. And Tim and Johnny Depp, they have their lovely relationship, you know, they get on so well. So that was a difficult one."
As a result of the bad feeling, she didn't think he would want to work with her again, and was surprised when the opportunity to star in his 'Alice in Wonderland' project came up.
She told the Hollywood Reporter: "I really didn't think he'd ever want to work with me again. On 'Alice in Wonderland', I said there were going to be rules. I listed the Ten Commandments of how to work together."
Bonham Carter and Burton began dating after she appeared in his movie 'Planet of the Apes' and have two children together, Billy, seven, and Nell, two.
