Anchorman star Ron Burgundy to release autobiography
Ron Burgundy will publish a tell-all autobiography.
The 'Anchorman' character - played by funnyman Will Ferrell - is set to pen his very first memoir, 'LET ME OFF AT THE TOP!: My Classy Life and Other Musings' about his glamorous life as a television news anchor for San Diego's Action 4 News Team and the first 24-hour news channel, GNN (Global News Network).
Ron enthused: ''I don't know if it's the greatest autobiography ever written. I'm too close to the work. I will tell you this much: the first time I sat down and read this thing ... I cried like a goddamn baby, and you can take that to the bank!''
The confessional book is rumoured to be penned by Ferrell himself, since the actor created the bumbling journalist persona and co-wrote the script for both the 2004 comedy and this year's follow-up film.
It will be published by Crown Archetype, an imprint of Random House, in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia in both print and digital formats on November 19, 2013.
Burgundy is set to offer a rare glimpse into the life of the real man behind the camera and share personal anecdotes about the women in his life, his dog Baxter, and his legendary news team.
Mauro DiPreta, Vice President, Editor in Chief at Crown Archetype, said: ''The list of legendary American broadcast news journalists is short: Edward R. Murrow, Walter Cronkite, and, of course, Ron Burgundy. The printed page will allow Ron to tell his story in a much more intimate way. 'LET ME OFF AT THE TOP!' will be a classic for years to come.''
The book release will precede the eagerly anticipated release of 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' in December.
