Ben Whishaw to star in Robopocalypse
Ben Whishaw is set to star in 'Robopocalypse'.
The 'Skyfall' actor is in talks to take on a key role in the Steven Spielberg-directed sci-fi movie, playing a hacker named Lurker, according to Variety.
If Ben does sign up for the film, he will star alongside 'Thor' actor Chris Hemsworth, with Anne Hathaway being tipped for the lead female role.
Based on the book by Daniel H. Wilson, the story takes place in a future where ''artificial intelligence known as Archos comes online and assumes control over the global network of machines that regulate everything from transportation to utilities, defense and communication''.
'Cabin in the Woods' director/co-writer Drew Goddard wrote the screenplay adaptation, and former 20th Century Fox head Tom Rothman has just been named as a producer.
Ben, 31, stars in the upcoming adaptation of 'Cloud Atlas' and plays the new Q in director Sam Mendes' Bond film 'Skyfall', the 23rd film of the 007 franchise which is released next month.
