Steve Jobs excited the techie world with one of the hottest new technology inventions from one of the most dominating companies of the last decade (see 9 of Top 10 current Google Trends of past hour - ipad price, ips display, ipad cost, ipad tablet, ipad specs, randy winn, apple a4 chip, ipad video, ipad apple, how much is the ipad). The new Apple iPad Tablet releases in stores in late March with a price point of $499. This gets you 16G of storage space and multiple entertainment format (including movie watching) with traditional processing and other phone and netbook features. For an extra $130, you can upgrade to 3G wireless capabilities.
While Jobs and most media members highlighted the digital book options (Apple will open a digital bookstore called iBooks) and other cool applications and features, movie fans should know that the new Apple iPad device will also deliver a very effective movie watching experience. Jobs demonstrated a couple movies on the device (including Star Trek) for media and techies today, January 27th, 2010, in his introduction of the product.
A competitor for the Amazon Kindle, the most popular digital book device currently available has been a long time coming. But Apple has essentially developed an all in one phone, netbook and media device that should be capable of giving the company a greater synergy with its slow growing Apple iTunes movies on demand format. Apple offers lots of new release movies for downloads from its iTunes store, a fact many digital movie customers haven’t yet realized. Most definitely, the company is likely going to promote the iPad Tablet as a portable movie streaming device.
Jobs likely made a genius move by adding to the market hype. He gave customers two months to salivate over the late March release of the product. Apple has certainly established itself as the protypical “all-in-one” entertainment technology device of the 21st century. This is pretty amazing for a company whose founder notoriously conceive in home personal computers but lost the bigger business potential from his thinking to Microsoft.
Keep an eye forout for more news about the Apple iPad Tablet movie capabilities as the release date for the iPad gets nearer.
