Halle Berry confirmed for Aretha Franklin biopic
Halle Berry will be playing Aretha Franklin in a biopic about her life.
The Oscar-winning actress has been confirmed by the 'Respect' hitmaker as playing the star in her older years, although admits no one has yet been cast as her younger self.
She said: "Halle Berry is me for the older me and a younger actress has yet to be named."
The 68-year-old legend is currently recovering from treatment from pancreatic cancer in Detroit, and told 'The Wendy Williams Show' she has previously had offers for films about her life but has turned them down for not offering enough.
She said: "Yes for the last four years we've been talking about that and I've had a number of offers but unfortunately they were not good offers."
The year ahead looks to be a busy one for 44-year old-Halle, who is currently filming romantic comedy 'New Year's Eve', the follow-up to 'Valentine's Day'.
She will also film ensemble comedy 'Shoe Addicts Anonymous' and time-bending sci-fi drama 'Cloud Atlas'.
