If you’ve been anxiously awaiting to find out if there’s more Scream in the future after season two’s conclusion, you don’t have to wait too much longer. MTV teased a special presentation earlier this year, and now, it’s right around the corner. Just in time for Halloween, the network brings Scream back for a two hour episode that takes the remaining Lakewood Six to Murder Island.

That’s right, this group has survived two serial killers already in a place nicknamed Murdertown, and yet, they’ve opted to travel to a place known as Murder Island for fun.

Set eight months after the events of season two, the one year anniversary of the initial killing spree is upon them, and Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) just wants to get away from it all. Lucky for her, Stavo (Santiago Segura) and Noah (John Karna) have the perfect plan. The duo have become bestsellers after combining their talents to create a graphic novel inspired by their own experiences in Lakewood. In looking for their next inspiration, they’ve found Shallow Grove Island, a place where they can have a relaxing vacation and investigate an old legend in which a woman killed her entire family.

I guess when you’ve already stopped two serial killers in your hometown, you think that no one else is going to come after you. Unfortunately, they’re wrong.

Joining them on the trip are Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus) and Brooke (Carlson Young), ready to have a little fun. What the group finds though is that their hometown killer might just still be after them, or maybe Shallow Grove Island still has someone with murderous tendencies running around, or both.

While Noah seems to think the group has landed in a Freddy vs Jason situation, in which two horror heavyweights battle it out for most kills, the preview calls to mind I Still Know What You Did Last Summer instead. The group is cut off from the outside world in a place where someone with them has to be the killer.

And then, of course, there’s also that Brandon James teaser at the end. It looks like “Mr. James” is returning to Lakewood, but it that before or after the events at the island? Is MTV using the special to tie up the loose ends in season two or to kick off a possible season three? Let’s hope for both.

Catch the special when it airs on Tuesday, October 18 at 9PM on MTV. If setting your DVR, don’t forget that it’s two hours of Scream instead of one!
