Fans who attended the Agents of SHIELD panel at New York Comic Con last weekend were in for a treat - they were able to view this week’s episode early. Fans at home who were keeping an eye on the information coming out of the panel might have been disappointed that there wasn’t a lot of new information about the show to come out, but there was one tidbit from Marvel’s head of television Jeph Loeb.

Loeb, who was on hand at NYCC for both Agents of SHIELD and an Iron Fist presentation, fielded questions about Agents of SHIELD along with series stars Chloe Bennet, Clark Gregg, and new addition Gabriel Luna. Loeb typically participates in the panels to assist in answering the more behind-the-scenes questions, and this time, he was presented with one that calls back to his Marvel hallmark “it’s all connected.” One fan wanted to know if and when the SHIELD agents would be made aware of the activity going on in Hell’s Kitchen.

While Agents of SHIELD travels all over the world throughout their storylines on the show, they don’t make stops in Hell’s Kitchen where a pair of Netflix characters operate. Both Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) have saved the city from bad guys, and there’s been little mention of it on the show so far.

Loeb’s answer for fans? Instead of giving fans a definitive answer, which would be against how Marvel tends to operate in the eye of the press, he said it was a “Fair question. The answer is… stay tuned.” In a press roundtable later, Loeb further fanned the speculation fires when he said, “I get in trouble every single time I say this, which is #ItsAllConnected. But trust me when I say #ItsAllConnected and that’s about all I can say on it at this time.”

Some fans will say that kind of answer could be leaning toward a crossover appearance for a character from one of the Netflix shows to stop by, or for SHIELD themselves to finally have to handle a problem in Hell’s Kitchen. In reality, this probably leans more in the vein of the kind of connection fans saw in season three, if they were paying attention. Season three saw a news broadcast in the background of a scene relaying a report on the gang wars in Hell’s Kitchen. Those “gang wars” were really a nod to the events of Daredevil season two in which Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) was busy taking out different gangs and organized crime units for his own reasons.

Of course, with Micro just cast for the upcoming Punisher series, and the character having been name checked by Daisy (Bennet) on Agents of SHIELD in the past, maybe the real connection is seeing him pop up in her life again. Or maybe it’s even answering the question of whether the St. Agnes orphanage that was teased by Daisy (back when she was Skye in season one) is the same one that Matt Murdock lived in as a child. Who knows? With Marvel the possibilities range from the smallest of connective tissue to the biggest of guest stars. We’ll just have to tune in and find out.

Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesdays at 10PM on ABC. You can currently stream full seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage on Netflix. Iron Fist will be available in March.
