James Cameron's Avatar 2 plans
James Cameron wants to work on other projects before 'Avatar 2'.
The 56-year-old director admits he has a "constellation of really cool things" he wants to work on, one of which may be before a sequel to 'Avatar', which is the highest grossing movie of all time.
He told MTV News: "I'm sort of weighing this constellation of really cool things that I want to do. I do want to do another 'Avatar' film, probably two, and I'm talking to Fox about that right now.
"There's a strong possibility that I might insert one of these other movies in between before that. It's all up in the air right now."
'Avatar' - which is heading back to cinemas with nine minutes of new footage this month - has so far grossed $2.74 billion worldwide, and the movie led Cameron to be nominated for a Best Director Oscar which he missed out on thanks to his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow's 'The Hurt Locker'.
He has previously hinted the second instalment of the film will see a focus on the planet of Pandora's oceans.
