It's Almost the Weekend! What Will You See?

"The Counselor" arrives in theaters on Friday, October 25. Ridley Scott helms the star-studded crime drama. The Counselor is a lawyer who will do anything to get ahead. When a shady friend offers the Counselor a chance to become involved in drug trafficking, the promise of quick cash lures the lawyer into the underworld. He will soon be in too deep to turn back. The film's R rating is due to grisly images, strong violence, language, and mature content.

In "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa," eighty-six-year-old Irving takes his impressionable young grandson on a very unusual road trip. Instead of reminiscing about the past and imparting life lessons, Irving prefers to introduce young Billy to a whole bevvy of unusual people. Following the format of MTV's "Jackass," the movie features a hidden camera set-up, capturing unexpected and hilarious reactions. Jeff Tremaine directs. The film's R rating is due to crude and mature content, graphic nudity, drug use, and language.

"Blue Is the Warmest Color" arrives in select theaters on October 25. Abdellatif Kechiche's romantic drama is about Adele, a young woman who has not yet learned how to assert herself and relate to the world as an adult. She meets Emma, a mysterious girl whose bright blue hair hints at her free spirit. As Emma and Adele form a bond, Adele begins to find her own voice. The provocative film has an NC-17 rating for explicit mature content.

"Capital" tells the story of Marc, a young executive who unexpectedly becomes CEO of a major investment bank. Marc soon realizes just how complex his job will be. He faces pressures and problems from every side, including an American hedge fund company that is working to take over his bank. From professional issues to personal drama, Marc struggles to keep a clear head. Costa-Gavras directs the film, which has an R rating for mature content, language, and drug use.

"Bastards" arrived in limited theaters on Wednesday, October 23. Claire Denis directs the tense drama. Marco rushes to help his sister, Sandra, after her husband commits suicide and her life devolves into a downward spiral. Marco promises to help Sandra seek revenge against her enemies, but Sandra might not have been totally honest with her loyal brother. If Marco is not careful, his dangerous behavior could end up destroying the family even further. "Bastards" has not yet been rated.

"Gravity" stars Sandra Bullock as a medical engineer on her first shuttle mission. When space debris sets off an unexpected chain of events and leaves Dr. Stone adrift in space, she must figure out how to make her way back to Earth. With dangers and obstacles at every turn, Dr. Stone begins to wonder if her mission was doomed from the start. Alfonso Cuar—n directs. "Gravity" has a PG-13 rating for intense perilous sequences, disturbing images, and brief strong language.

"Captain Phillips" is a drama about a 2009 hijacking in Somalia. Muse is the leader of a pirate crew, stalking the waters off the coast of Somalia. Richard Phillips is the commanding officer of a U.S. container ship, the Maersk Alabama. When the two men collide, they become embroiled in a stand-off that could lead to dangerous consequences. Both Muse and Captain Phillips attempt to control the situation, but in the end, both may suffer equally. Paul Greengrass directs.

"Carrie" is a remake of a horror classic, starring Chlo‘ Grace Moretz in the title role. Carrie is an outcast at her school, where her naivety makes her stand out. At home, her relationship with her mother is difficult. What nobody realizes is that Carrie's strange powers could change everything. If Carrie is pushed far enough, the results may be tragic. "Carrie" has an R rating for mature content, bloody violence, disturbing images, and language. Kimberley Peirce directs.

"Escape Plan" stars Sylvester Stallone as Ray Breslin, a man who designs secure structures for a living. He tests maximum security prisons to ensure the inmates stay inside, unable to execute even the most daring escape plan. His skills face an unexpected test after Ray ends up imprisoned in the world's toughest and most impenetrable prison. Now, Ray will go to any lengths to escape. "Escape Plan" has an R rating for violence and language. Mikael HŒfstršm directs the daring flick.

"Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" sees Flint Lockwood returning to retrieve the FLDSMDFR. The pesky machine has started producing food-animal hybrids, including shrimpanzees, hippotatos, watermelophants, and more. Flint and his pals need to figure out how to rescue the machine, but the mischievous foodimals guarantee that nothing will be easy. Flint will have to do his best to stay out of trouble. The film's PG rating is due to mild rude humor. Kris Pearn and Cody Cameron direct.
