Vanessa Hudgens going on a Journey?
Vanessa Hudgens is in negotiations to play the female lead in the sequel to 'Journey to the Center of the Earth'.
The 'High School Musical' beauty is in the final stage of negotiations to play the part of a Pacific Islander in the film - entitled 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island' - which will see the lead characters embark on a trip to a mythical island, The Hollywood Reporter states.
Josh Hutcherson is to reprise his role as explorer Sean Anderson, while Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is also set to star in the sequel.
Loosely based on Jules Verne's 'The Mysterious Island', the film is being produced by Beau Flynn and Tripp Vision of Contrafilm.
Shooting is expected to begin at the end of the month in North Carolina and Hawaii.
Vanessa recently starred in 'Beastly', a modern day re-telling of 'Beauty and the Beast', which she describes as "twisted".
She said: "We took bits and pieces of the original, like the transformation; you have to find someone who loves you to break the spell. But we twisted it a little bit and made it a bit darker and threw in a few oddities that weren't in the original."
