Beyonce Knowles is "honoured" Clint Eastwood wants her to appear in a remake of 'A Star is Born'.
The 29-year-old singer-and-actress - who is rumoured to be starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in the forthcoming movie - has confirmed she is in "awe" of Clint, and adds she is delighted to have been chosen as she is an "African American woman".
Speaking on 'Good Morning America', she said: "Clint Eastwood? Can you believe that? I can't believe it still. When I met him, I was just in awe. I'm so, so honoured that he believes in me and I can't wait to do this film.
"I represent this generation's talent and for me to be the chosen person, as an African American woman, it's incredible."
The film will be the fourth remake of the classic story - the most recent version in 1976 starred Barbara Streisand as the aspiring singer who falls for an older rock star (Kris Kristofferson), but Judy Garland and Janet Gaynor have previously played the lead role.
Beyonce has won much acclaim for her previous film roles, starring as Etta James in 'Cadillac Records' and a leading role in musical 'Dreamgirls', which was loosely based on the story of Diana Ross and 60s girl group The Supremes.
