A film adaptation of the book "Provinces of Night" by William Gay, this drama film tells the story of E.F. Bloodworth (Kris Kristofferson), who after 40 years returns home to the family he abandoned. Frances Conroy plays his ex-wife while Val Kilmer, Dwight Yoakam, and W. Earl Brown are his sons who have been soured by years of resentment.
