Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal & Natalie Portman star in this war drama, a remake of a 2004 Danish film. Sam (Maguire) is a US Marine who goes off to the war in Afghanistan. He is reported killed, leaving his wife Grace (Portman) and their two daughters to grieve back home. Sam's brother Tommy (Gyllenhaal), just released from prison, tries to help out, though his near-constant presence in the home leads to his falling for Grace while also bonding with her and Sam's girls. Then the whole family receives the shock of a lifetime when they learn that Sam isn't really dead.
