Wes Anderson thinks Bruce Willis seems like a ''real policeman''.

The filmmaker cast the actor as an officer in his new film 'Moonrise Kingdom' - which tells the story of two 12 years olds who decide to run away together and the subsequent search - and though he didn't know the star before they worked together, he always felt he would be perfect for the role.

He said: ''Bruce I didn't know before but I had this character who was quite a sad, reserved person, but who you believe in his authority underneath it.

''He's a real policeman! And Bruce Willis seems like a real policeman. It's definitely not a stretch to say that he has a badge.''

The film also stars Edward Norton as a scout master and Wes believes the actor's natural resourcefulness served him well in the movie.

He added to Esquire magazine: ''Edward has very good wilderness skills. If you were in a plane crash in the jungle, he'd be a perfect person to be with you. In fact, he's so resourceful that he is a pilot, so he could easily have crashed you as well.''
