Reese Witherspoon to star in 'Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus'

June 22nd, 2012

Reese Witherspoon will star in 'Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus'.

The 'Water For Elephants' actress has signed up for the adaptation of John Gray's best-selling self-help book for women, directed by big-screen newcomer Bryan Buckley.

Six-time Emmy nominee Bryan is known as the 'King of the Super Bowl', having directed over 40 commercials for the annual US sporting event, but this will be his first feature film.

Scriptwriters Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan are responsible for creating a storyline loosely based on the iconic text, which was released in 1992 and offers advice about how to understand the differences between the sexes and improve your relationship.

The tome has sold over 50 million copies, becoming the best selling non-fiction hardcover book of all-time after the Bible and the Koran.

Reese will next appear in 'Mud' and has upcoming films 'Devil's Knot', 'Wish List' and 'Big Eye' lined up for 2013.

Lionsgate are producing the movie following their latest book adaptation 'What To Expect When You're Expecting', which stars Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison, being released on the big screen earlier this year.

'Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus' begins shooting in January.
