Hayley Atwell's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" cameo
Marvel Studios brings their patriotic hero to the big screen with this 2011 action adventure film based on the comics character of the same name. Set during WWII, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) has been deemed physically unfit for military service. As a result, he volunteers for a secret operation called Project: Rebirth and is transformed into a super-soldier dubbed Captain America.
Hayley Atwell will have a cameo in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.
The 30-year-old actress starred in the franchise's first movie 'Captain America: The First Avenger' and while it was thought she would not return for its sequel, it has been confirmed she will have a small role.
Her 'First Avenger' co-star Stanley Tucci revealed the news when he was asked if her would be returning.
He said: ''No, they haven't [asked], unfortunately. I'm really sad. I know that Hayley is going back to do a flashback scene, but I have not been asked.''
As the majority of the film will take place in the present day after the captain - played by Chris Evans - found himself transported from the 1940s at the end of the first film, it is thought Hayley will appear in a flashback scene.
Emily VanCamp has been cast as the female lead, potentially as Peggy Carter's niece, Sharon.
'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' - which is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and co-starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan - will be released early next year.
