Tobey Maguire joins Labor Day cast
Tobey Maguire has joined the cast of 'Labor Day'.
The 37-year-old actor will play an adult version of central character Henry - a 13-year-old boy who leans some valuable life lessons - and also narrate the story.
The film, which has been adapted from author Joyce Maynard's novel by the movie's director Jason Reitman, focuses on the story of Adele (Kate Winslet) and her son Henry (Gattlin Griffith), who pick up a stranger on a day out. The man, Frank (Josh Brolin), turns out to be an escaped convict but he manages to teach the youngster some important things as he hides out in their family home across a five-day Labour Day weekend.
The cast also features Brighid Fleming, Tom Lipinski, James Van Der Beek and Clark Gregg.
The film is set to begin shooting in Massachusetts later this month.
Tobey can next be seen starring in black comedy 'The Details' followed by Baz Luhrmann's blockbuster 'The Great Gatsby' opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Isla Fisher and Joel Edgerton.
