Have you ever watched your favorite Nascar event, football bowl game, or other major sporting event, and wished you could watch it again and again. CreateSpace, part of the Amazon umbrella of companies, and Team Marketing have collaborated to deliver sports content on demand to fans using the CreateSpace DVD on Demand platform.
The CreateSpace DVD on Demand platform provides a low-risk, highly cost-effective and inventory-free means of releasing a large selection of Team Marketing’s library of sporting events. In addition, CreateSpace’s fast-to-market DVD distribution capability makes it possible for fans to order from Amazon.com a DVD copy of a sporting event on the day of the event and have it in their hands in a matter of days, versus weeks for traditional DVD distribution methods.
The companies recently announced the DVD release of the 2010 Daytona 500, along with classic NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and the recently broadcast 2009-2010 BCS Bowl Championship Series all through CreateSpace DVD on Demand.
“CreateSpace’s on-demand technology eliminates the need for inventory and distributes content on Amazon.com, giving Team Marketing the ability to release a wide selection of NASCAR races that otherwise might not be available through more traditional methods. Also, CreateSpace can make brand new NASCAR content available – like last Sunday’s 2010 Daytona 500 – long before it might otherwise be available to traditional retail outlets,” says Mike Haney, Content Acquisitions for CreateSpace.
Haney adds, “Huge libraries of sports content exist that have never been made available to customers on DVD. CreateSpace DVD on Demand technology allows sports leagues and content owners to finally make these games and races available to fans on DVD, which makes finding this content easier than ever.”
The NASCAR DVD series, now available for pre-order, will excite sports fans with full races available for the first time on DVD, some showcasing historic footage dating as far back as the 1960s. Compiled from the races NASCAR fans consider watershed events for the sport, some of the series’ key racing moments include the first television broadcast of the Daytona 500, Dale Earnhardt’s historic victory over Bobby Labonte during NASCAR’s 50th season and Jeff Gordon’s becoming the youngest driver to win Daytona.
College football fans can now collect their favorite Bowl games from the 2009-2010 season via CreateSpace DVD on Demand technology – all without commercial interruption. Games include the 2010 Citi BCS National Championship, where the Alabama Crimson Tide topped the Texas Longhorns; 2010 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, during which the Ole Miss Rebels used a second-half rally to win the game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys; and the 2010 Allstate Sugar Bowl, where Gators quarterback Tim Tebow led Florida to victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats. All of these games are available on Amazon.com and include special bonus features, making them a great addition to any sports aficionado’s collection.
“Team Marketing is not only able to expand the selection of NASCAR titles available to our customers, but our new relationship with CreateSpace ensures our titles remain in-stock when customers order,” said Clayton Nichols, vice president, Team Marketing. “Making the titles available on-demand allows us to not only give new life to classic sports content, but also to get a sporting event DVD to a customer while it’s still a hot topic at the water cooler.”
Haney says that the added sports content expands the variety of other great DVD on Demand content already available from CreateSpace.
“CreateSpace accepts video and music content from filmmakers, musicians, movie studios, TV networks and record labels and makes it available on-demand, meaning discs are manufactured only in response to customer demand. Titles from these rightsholders are digitized and stored. When a customer places an order for one of these titles on Amazon.com or other channels, we burn and produce a fully packaged, shrink-wrapped DVD or CD product that is then shipped to the customer. Titles are available to arrive to customers the very next day, depending on the shipping method chosen.”
2010 Orange Bowl: Iowa vs. Georgia Tech DVD Review
The company provided us with a copy of the 2010 Orange Bowl: Iowa vs. Georgia Tech on DVD to review the quality of the offering. Whereas fans in the past have often had to rely on video taped games, TiVo, or other less formal and manageable ways to memorialize their best games, CreateSpace delivers a high quality recreation of the original broadcast.
The game was broken up into four scenes – one for each quarter. You can watch the entire game from the beginning, or pick the quarter the you want to watch. There are also some cool bonus features that come with the game. The front cover of the box had the visuals of the game and the team names. The backside had a thorough recap, the four quarter box score, and other important details of the game. It truly is a very nice memorabilia item and a great chance to watch your favorite teams and games.
The DVD does bear the logo of the winning team – Iowa Hawkeyes.
We were also provided 3 DVD copies of the 2010 Orange Bowl for giveaway!

Merging together the American desire to honor its celebrities with the pleasure and relaxation of taking a bath, CelebriDucks is among the more unique entertainment industry products. An industry recognized collectible often used for swag at awards and industry events, the limited edition rubber ducks are similar to other small bathtub size rubber duckies with the exception that they take on the sculpted upper torso and heads of celebrities.
Not only a unique product, company owner and President Craig Wolfe has done well marketing his duckie solutions to the world. First, the company has connected to the celebrities themselves at events. Everyone likes a gift and CelebriDucks was named among “The 100 Best Gifts” by Entertainment Weekly.
Taglines, slogans and expressions used with the ducks include “Float Outside the Flock” and “Rub a Dub Dub With Stars in Your Tub”. According to its website, the company focuses on “exquisitely detailed limited edition collectible celebrity rubber ducks of the greatest icons of film, music, history, and athletics.”
A couple of the top selling celebrity ducks include “James Dean” and “Marilyn Monroe”. Similar to the way that caricatures capture the essence of a celebrity, or other individual’s features, in a blown up and exaggerated way, the CelebriDucks are easily recognized but certainly offer enhanced depictions of the faces and torsos of the celebrities.
Learn more about the history of CelebriDucks. Visit the CelebriDucks store where you will find ducks categorized by celebrity genre with a typical price point of $11.99 depending on the duck.
The Dean Duck intricately has the white t-shirt under leather jacket look with hands in pocket that you can identify with the man. Marilyn Monroe’s duck has a purple, low cut top with bare arms and long white gloves. The Dean duck features a sharp orange beak for a news, while Monroe’s has a yellow beak. The beaks typically range in color in the orange-yellow range.
