Viral marketing has increased in popularity as the internet continues to grow as a cultural revolution and business channel.  More consumers are using the ‘consumer as the advertiser’ approach to grow their businesses through intention word of mouth advertising that is widely regarded as most effective.

Murray Newlands is an example of a marketing blog that serves as an intermediary between advertisers and the online publisher.  It discusses internet marketing, email marketing, inbound marketing, and social media, while serving as a facilitator of web-based viral marketing.

One of the best ways to gain insights into the online marketing realm is to read a marketing blog or an affiliate blog to better understand how companies are working closely with web  publishers to ultimately communicate information about brands to the market.

Internet marketing has evolved greatly and continues to evolve from its early days of basic banner and pop up advertising.  As new entrepreneurs and people use the web to discuss items both personal and professional in nature, marketers use their forums to convey message to the audience.

Viral marketing is sure to be a growing component of the internet marketer’s strategy in the coming years.

With a tough economy it is especially important for consumers to compare shopping prices to get the best shopping deals possible.  One benefit of shopping this past holiday season was the many retailers were competing hard for our business in order to generate much need year end sales.

You might have heard that Amazon.com was a big winner during the 2009 shopping season as they were able to leverage growing interest in finding the best value and convenience available.  Because of its online market forum that allows sellers to present their best deal possible, consumers win with value.

One thing that were are going to be in the market for soon are dishwashers.  Ours is ancient and we struggle to get dishes cleaned efficiently and effectively.  By comparing prices and exploring options both online and in-store, we always make sure to find the best value for the money.

Take your time when you can to explore the marketplace.  During tough economic times, it is a buyer’s market for those that can afford it.  Businesses are down and some are desperate for business.  This helps us to win as consumers by getting the best price on the best product to meet our needs.

Get Paid to Tweet with Sponsored Tweets

Do you want to get Paid to Tweet?  Do you have a large and growing list of Twitter followers that would make for a captive audience for advertisers?  There are a few Sponsored Tweet applications that have already started and most certainly more to come.  This is a great way for anyone who is a regular user of Twitter to earn income from the fact that you have a fanbase of followers.  The more followers you have the better your chance to make money Tweeting.

The following is a look at two of the newest and best programs you can use to get Paid to Tweet.  They offer a forum for advertisers to find publishers of interest based on their number of followers and areas of interest.  These are the two common factors that increase your ability to make money Tweeting.  The larger the audience and the more targeted the interest areas, the better.

Sponsored Tweets

This was one of the originators, if not the originator of the pay for Tweets concept.  It is a very cool and easy to use application with a growing number of advertisers looking for publishers.  You can see on the sign in page that there are many celebrities and people with large follower bases using the program.  The minimum payout amount is $50.  This is what you must earn to get paid through PayPal or check.

How much to you get Paid to Tweet?  The amount per Tweet is up to you.  The program gives you a recommended pay per Tweet, but you can adjust up or down.  Naturally, the lower the rate, the more advertiser interest.  The higher the rate, the more bang for your buck.  I have found at this point, as paid Twitter programs are relatively new, that it is best to set your rate slightly below the suggested rate.  Doing so significantly increased the consistency of offers received.

Getting pay for Tweets is simple.  You receive an email message that an advertiser has made an offer.  You can go and accept it.  Some offers are pre-written and you simply approve the message for a Tweet on your account.  Others, you get the link and the message and you write your Tweet directly from your account platform.  Most messages are approved and paid in around 24 hours.  If you have a large number of followers you can certainly make some good money with this Sponsored Tweets program.

Another way to make money with this and other applications is through a Referral Program.  Sponsored Tweets pays you 10% of the income earned by your referred members.  It is way easier to refer members through these pay for Tweet programs that most others.  You can send your referral link through emails, Tweet it out, or use other simple social media tools.  Since many people are familiar with and use Twitter, it is not that hard to convince them they should be getting Paid to Tweet as well.

Ad.ly Pay to Tweet

This is a newer of the sponsored Tweets programs that seems to offer a lot of potential.  In fact, my suggested pay rate was slightly higher in this Paid to Tweet application.  One challenge is that you have to set your rate as a ‘whole dollar’.  When you have a smaller amount of followers, the jump from $1-2 can deter advertisers or significantly lower your Tweet pay rate to entice them.  The Sponsored Tweets program lets you round to the nearest nickel.

Still, this program has its advantages.  It too boasts of celebrity users including Kim Kardashian who has nearly 2 million followers and reportedly she makes around $10,000 per Tweet.  Jay Mewes (of the Clerks movies) is shown as a demonstration and he apparently makes $3,600 per Tweet.  Obviously, these are high end celebrities who have lots of followers.  It does demonstrate the earning potential with these Pay for Tweet programs.

Another advantage of the Ad.ly Paid to Tweet platform is its referral program has a slightly higher 12% referal pay rate.  Everytime a referral earns money Tweeting, you get 10% of that.  It is very fun watching emails come through saying you earned $$$ for someone else’s efforts.
