Chris Hemsworth impressed by Downey Jr's work ethic
Chris Hemsworth was impressed with Robert Downey Jr's work ethic on the set of 'The Avengers'.
The Australian actor portrays god character Thor in the forthcoming Marvel action movie, and although he was initially nervous about working with Robert - who plays Iron Man - in the project, he admits he eventually learnt a lot from him.
He said: ''He gets different reactions out of everybody. I talked to him about his preparation and how obsessive he can be at times. He said, 'You've got to be. You've got two weeks beforehand. Drill it, hours and hours and hours on end. That's how you prepare for a scene.'
''It's funny because I find a lot of the time I do that, being new to this business, as a safety net for myself. You look at people like that and think, by this point in their career they must just wake up and half read the lines and do it. But it was nice to hear that he still does that kind of prep and gives it that much attention.''
Despite having played the character previously in stand-alone film 'Thor' - directed by Kenneth Branagh - Chris admits the way the ensemble piece was shot was very different to what he was used to.
He told Collider.com: ''It's much different sort of schedule to 'Thor'. For 'Thor', I was there every single day and it was all about Thor's journey, whereas this is obviously an ensemble and much more spread. It's been a different sort of work pattern, but I am still having fun.''
