Christina Hendricks: Gosling's film offer is biggest compliment ever
Christina Hendricks says being offered the lead role in Ryan Gosling's directorial debut is the ''biggest compliment ever''.
The 'Man Men' beauty says that it was ''crazy flattering'' to be chosen to star in Ryan's fantasy film, 'How to Catch a Monster', which will see her play single mother Billy whose sons discover an underwater world in which the family are plunged into.
Speaking to Vulture, she said: ''His first big film, and he could have gotten anyone!
''It was very heartwarming and the biggest compliment ever.''
According to Christina, 37, Ryan got in contact with her a few months ago to see if she was interested in reading a script that he'd wrote with her in mind and he sent her the script over in a ''cool box with an interesting little key''.
The flame-haired beauty added: ''It was like the full package! And then I read the script and was in love with it, so I called him back and said, 'Yeah, please.' ''
The pair both starred in 2011 hit movie 'Drive' and will reunite with producer Marc Platt, who has described the script as ''beautifully haunting''.
Ryan, 31, has said: ''I am very appreciative to Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and Bold Films for being so supportive and I look forward to making this film with all of them.''
Filming for 'How to Catch a Monster' is due to begin in spring 2013.
