Dan Aykroyd is an established actor, singer, comedian and screenwriter. He was an original cast member of Saturday Night Live and an originator of The Blues Brothers (with John Belushi).

He received widespread recognition as co-creator, co-writer, and one of the lead actors in Ghostbusters I & II (1984 and 1989, respectively). The film's inspiration is said to have come from his fascination with parapsychology.

Some of his greatest performances can be seen in movies like The Great Outdoors (1988), Ghostbusters I & II, Grosse Pointe Blank (1997), Christmas with the Kranks (2004), and I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007).
