Tom Wilkinson avoids own films

February 24th, 2012

Tom Wilkinson ''avoids'' seeing movies he is in.

The 63-year-old actor - who is known for roles in movies such as 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' and new film 'Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' - does not like to see himself on the big screen because he is in denial about how old he is.

He told BANG Showbiz: ''If I can avoid looking at movies I'm in, I will. I've seen 'Best Exotic Marigold Hotel', but I'm not going to see it again.

''Anyone over the age of 60 is in denial about ageing, they don't want to talk about it. You look in the mirror and for years and years ... you're the same. Then at some point you look in the mirror and you think 'F**king hell, who is that?!''

However the British star is full of praise for fellow 'Best Exotic' actor Dev Patel - who plays the owner of the hotel in the film - because he is ''very bright and fun''.

He added: ''I really like him. He's a fantastic young guy, really unaffected by everything. What you see is what you get with [Dev]. He's very bright, fun, thoughtful and talented.''

'Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' is released in the UK today (24.02.12).
