Jake Gyllenhaal in talks for An Enemy
Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in 'An Enemy'.
The 31-year-old actor is being lined up for two roles in the thriller movie, which has been described by insiders as a ''dark and edgy'' motion picture, Variety reports.
The movie tells the story of a dysfunctional history teacher who rents a DVD but falls asleep while watching the film only to wake up with it still playing and see a man onscreen who looks exactly as he did five years earlier.
Following the bizarre discovery, he sets out to track down the mysterious man and ends up turning both of their lives upside down.
'An Enemy' will be directed by 'Prisoners' helmer Denis Villeneuve, with Javier Gullón set to write the script for the adaptation, which is based on Jose Saramago's 2001 novel 'The Double'.
Jake was in negotiations to take over from Dominic Cooper in 'Motor City', but scheduling problems meant it did not happen.
The actor was last seen in time-thriller 'Source Code' and he is due to appear in police drama 'End of Watch' later this year.
