Having been a customer of the Netflix online movie rentals program, it is easy to see why the company is quickly becoming a dominant force not just in renting movies online, but in DVD rentals in general. The company just surpassed 11,000 earlier this year and appears likely to continue on an uptrend for several years given that DVDs are projected to grow in the near term.
Netflix currently offers well over 100,000 DVD movie rentals online including all of the newest releases and a vast collection of library titles. Subscribers can also gain access to the companies collection of over 17,000 movie downloads through its proprietary Roku Player.
There are several options for customers to choose from when selecting a Netflix DVD rental plan. There is a limited plan for $4.99 per month that allows for 2 DVD movie rentals online per month. Unlimited plans are available that allow for 1 DVD out at a time ($8.99), 2 DVDs out at at a time ($13.99), and 3 DVDs out at a time ($16.99).
This gives subscribers great flexibility. We used the 3 DVD unlimited plan, which is an awesome value if you watch a lot of movies. If you figure about three movies per week, or around 12-15 per month, that amounts to less than $1.50 per DVD. Plus, you never have to leave your home to rent! You get free shipping both ways, and with all of the distribution centers the company has, mail time is usually 1 day both ways, or 2 days maximum. We always had one day each way.
Best of all, you can try DVD movie rentals online from Netflix absolutely free as the company has a great 2-week Free Trial offer. You can simply log in to your account and cancel anytime within two weeks to avoid being charged for your first month’s subscription. Most likely, you’ll realize the value of online movie rentals and become a loyal customer for years to come.
