Ewan McGregor in talks for Jack the Giant Killer
Ewan McGregor is set for a starring role in 'Jack the Giant Killer'.
The Scottish actor has entered negotiations to play the role of an elite soldier in the movie - based on the classic children's fairytale 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.
'A Single Man' star Nicholas Hoult is set to play Jack while 'Easy A' actor Stanley Tucci is to portray a villainous royal advisor.
The Bryan Singer-directed movie tells the tale of a farm boy who must lead an expedition to free a kidnapped princess who has been taken hostage by a giant.
If his mission does not succeed, a long-held peace between humans and giants may be destroyed.
Bill Nighy and John Kassir are set to play the two-headed leader of the giants in the project, while Australian actress Adelaide Kane and 'Alice in Wonderland' star Eleanor Tomlinson are in consideration for the part of the captured royal beauty.
The movie is set to get underway in March in London.
Ewan has a busy year coming up with three projects in the works, including a leading role in 'Salmon Fishing in Yemen' alongside Emily Blunt and Kristin Scott Thomas.
