Emma Stone to join The Gangster Squad?
Emma Stone is in discussions to star in 'The Gangster Squad'.
The US actress is thought to be in line for the role of bitter beauty Jean in the crime movie, which is set to feature her 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' co-star Ryan Gosling and her 'Zombieland' director Ruben Fleischer.
The film - which is also set to star Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie and Michael Pena - sees Jean caught in a love triangle with Ryan's character Sgt. Jerry Wooters and Sean Penn's alter-ego Mickey Cohen.
The movie - which is based on a true story - portrays the Los Angeles Police Department's struggle to ensure the East Coast mafia stay out of the city in the 1940s and 1950s.
And the 22-year-old flame-haired actress - who broke both her arms during a gymnastics class when she was seven when she was dropped by her partner - will be hoping there are no gym stunts to perform if she signs up for the motion picture after she recently suffered a panic attack while filming a scene with Ryan in 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' where he lifts her above his head.
She said: "I had a panic attack so that was a stunt double from a distance. We tried a couple of times but it didn't work out for me. Ryan didn't do anything wrong. He thinks that I was afraid he was gonna drop me."
