Harrison Ford joins Age of Adaline
Harrison Ford has been cast in 'The Age of Adaline'.
The veteran actor will star alongside 'Gossip Girl' beauty Blake Lively and Ellen Burstyn in the new romantic drama.
The film tells the tale of a young woman named Adaline, who after recovering from a traumatic near-fatal accident, discovers she has stopped ageing. However, after years of leading a solitary life and travelling across the globe, she meets a man for whom it might be worth losing her immortality.
Lively will play the titular character in the co-production between Lionsgate and Lakeshore Entertainment.
Lakeshore president Gary Lucchesi said in a statement: ''We are very excited to be working with Harrison Ford. He's one of the great actors of our time, and will be perfect for the role of William in 'The Age of Adaline'.''
Lionsgate co-chairmen Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger added: ''We are absolutely thrilled to have such a talented superstar as Harrison Ford join this project and can't wait for production to get underway.''
Ford was recently seen in 'Ender's Game' and is tipped to reprise his famous role as Han Solo in the upcoming seventh instalment of 'Star Wars'.
