Ewan McGregor enjoys exploring sexuality on screen

Ewan McGregor likes to "explore" sexuality in his movies.

The 40-year-old actor has played gay or bisexual characters in many of his films, including 'Velvet Goldmine', 'The Pillow Book', and 'I Love You, Philip Morris', and says he has few limits on the type of characters he is prepared to portray.

He said: "I've never been scared to explore sexuality in my work because I think it is very important. It's a big area of what makes us us, the desire to sleep with men or women, and I never wanted to have limits in any of my work other than my own morals.

"Through my career I've played gay or bisexual characters whenever they've grabbed me."

Ewan - who is married to Eve Mavrakis, with whom he has four daughters - admits he feels "blessed" to work in an industry with few prejudices about people's sexuality.

He added to Attitude magazine: "There's no room for those prejudices in this business, or there shouldn't be. Maybe I'm just blessed by being able to do this kind of job."
