An adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's novel of the same name, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is a 2011 drama film directed by Stephen Daldry. Starring in the leading roles are Hollywood heavyweights Tom Hanks & Sandra Bullock, who join Thomas Horn, Max von Sydow, Viola Davis, John Goodman, Jeffrey Wright & James Gandolfini in rounding out an excellent cast list. The plotline follows a 9-year-old amateur inventor, Francophile, and pacifist as he searches New York City for the lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father, who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
