Robin Williams' cyclical career

August 10th, 2010

Robin Williams believes his career has been "cyclical".

The actor - best known for roles in movies such as 'Mrs Doubtfire' and 'Good Morning, Vietnam - admits his career has been through ups and downs but thanks others for keeping him grounded.

He said: "Your career is cyclical. It's be like, 'Yes, everything's wonderful,' 'Not so good,' 'Everything's great!', 'Oh, what the f**k?'

"If you're lucky, you have people who keep you grounded in the face of it so you don't take the highs and the lows too seriously."

The 59-year-old star also admits he has no intention of retiring in the future but will only work on movies he is passionate about now.

He told Total Film: "I don't want to retire and play golf, I want to keep working, doing stand-up, riding my bike occasionally and being around friends and funny people.

"And doing a movie when there's something interesting. They're out there but you have to look."
