Julianne Moore joins The English Teacher
Steve Carrell stars as Cal Weaver, a seemingly successful and happy 40-something who gets the shock of his life when his wife Emily (Julianne Moore) asks for a divorce. Things only go down hill from here, as he learns that she has cheated on him. Confused and alone, Cal spends his evenings sulking at a local bar. There he meets the handsome thirty-something Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling), who takes him on as his wingman. Also starring Kevin Bacon, Emma Stone and Marisa Tomei.
Julianne Moore is to star in 'The English Teacher'.
The actress will appear alongside Greg Kinnear in the indie comedy, which tells the story of high school teacher Linda Sinclair (Moore) whose life is turned upside down by the return of a star student.
The pupil has failed as a playwright in New York and gone back to his small-town school to teach, leading to an awkward relationship with Linda. It is thought there could be a potential romance between the pair. It is not yet known what role Greg will play.
Craig Zisk will make his directorial debut with the movie.
Julianne recently revealed she feels "grateful" to still be getting good roles.
The 50-year-old actress - who is currently starring in 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' with Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling - continues to "hope" to get good roles and doesn't want to be out of work.
She said: "I feel tremendously grateful. I feel so lucky all the time to have had the opportunities that I've had, and that's what I had hoped would happen when I started acting. You don't want to fall into that ditch of not working, so I'm just trying to keep looking ahead and hope that the jobs keep coming."
