Billy Connolly is writing his first film but needs someone to help him finish the screenplay.

The 'Gulliver's Travels' star is used to being in front of the camera but he has revealed his interest in writing and is hopeful his first foray into writing a film will be a success.

Billy told Scotland's Daily Record: "I have got an idea for a film but, like a lot of my ideas, I have a good first third and then nothing.

"I think it's a really good idea and I'm scribbling away. I think I should find somebody to work with on it."

Along with starring in a wide range of movies, Billy, 68, has also worked as a musician and comedian and previously revealed he is "not surprised" at the outcome of his professional life.

He explained: "It's the kind of thing I always wanted to do, but I'm a bit limited, so I'm not surprised it has gone the way it has. I thought I had a wonderful film career, compared to, you know, considering where I come from and what I do. I'm delighted I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever."
