MOTW: Who's Who in the Cast of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire"

With the amazing cast of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," there is no doubt that this movie will be as exciting as the first installment. Several of the faces will be familiar to fans who saw the first film in the series, "The Hunger Games." Other characters are new additions for this film's continuing story. Here is a list of all of the main players.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence reprises her role from "The Hunger Games" as Katniss Everdeen. Lawrence started acting at the age of fourteen, and has won both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook." She has had major or starring roles in several movies, including "Winter's Bone," "X-Men: First Class," and "House at the End of the Street."

Josh Hutcherson

Josh Hutcherson is back in this film as Peeta Mellark, Katniss's partner and winner of the Hunger Games. Hutcherson is from Kentucky, although his family moved to Los Angeles when he was nine years old. He started acting in 2002 and had his first film role in "American Splendor" in 2003. His recent roles include "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," "Red Dawn," and "The Forger."

Liam Hemsworth

Liam Hemsworth plays Katniss's friend Gale Hawthorne from District 12. He is the younger brother of actor Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in Marvel's "Thor" series. Liam is from Melbourne, Australia. He can also be seen in "Empire State" and "Paranoia."

Woody Harrelson

Woody Harrelson, who became famous on television's "Cheers," reprises his role as District 12 Hunger Games winner Haymitch Abernathy. He is a friend and advisor to both Katniss and Peeta. Harrelson is originally from Midland, Texas, and spent his teen years in Lebanon, Ohio. Other recent films featuring Harrelson include "Zombieland," "2012," and "The Messenger."

Donald Sutherland

Actor Donald Sutherland plays the evil President Snow. This Canadian actor has been in close to 150 TV shows and films during his acting career. He is the father of actor Kiefer Sutherland and is known as a character actor throughout Hollywood. His most recent films include "The Con Artist," "The Eagle," and a remake of Charles Bronson's movie "The Mechanic."

Lenny Kravitz

Lenny Kravitz, known for both his music and his acting, plays Cinna, the lead stylist for District 12's Hunger Games team. Born in New York, he is a four-time Grammy winner. Kravitz is a world-famous musician and has also written music for other musicians, including Madonna and Steven Tyler, and performing tracks on albums by Mick Jagger and David Bowie.

Stanley Tucci

Actor Stanley Tucci is outrageous in his role as Caesar Flickerman, media announcer in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." He is from Peekskill, New York, and began acting in high school. Since then, he has played many roles both on stage and in film. He has also been seen in "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Captain America: The First Avenger."

Willow Shields

Shields's role as Katniss's younger sister, Primrose Everdeen, in the first film, "Hunger Games," is what gets the story started. Katniss protects her sister by taking her place as tribute for District 12. Willow Shields is from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and has a twin sister named Autumn Shields. Shields started acting in 2008 and is homeschooled along with her siblings.

Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks plays the role of the escort for District 12, Effie Trinket. Originally from Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Banks graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and started acting in theater in 1996. She had several supporting roles in film and television before playing Alec Baldwin's love interest in season four of the comedy "30 Rock."

Philip Seymour Hoffman

Philip Seymour Hoffman plays Plutarch Heavensbee, the Head Gamemaker in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." He is a film and stage actor as well as a theater director. He won the best actor Oscar award for the role of Truman Capote in "Capote."

Patrick St. Esprit

Playing the diabolical Commander Thread, Head Peacekeeper of District 12, Patrick St. Esprit is an American actor who has had roles in television and films since 1985.

Sam Claflin

Sam Claflin plays fellow tribute Finnick Odair from District 4. He is an English actor who gave up a football career after breaking both of his ankles. He made his film debut in 2010, and in 2012, he played Prince William in "Snow White and the Huntsman."

Jena Malone

Jena Malone plays Johanna Mason, a tribute from District 7. She started out as a child actress in 1996 and has had several roles on television and film since then. She would like to direct as well as act.
