Indie filmmakers are among those starting to recognize the opportunities presented by the trend toward on-demand movie rentals and downloads. The development of WebMovieNow enables many brilliant film developers to compete in the growing online movie rental and download forum that many younger audiences seek out. Especially in a tough economy, people are finding it harder to pay for theater experiences, and many prefer to go to the web for entertainment versus driving to the local rental store.

WebMovieNow has already established itself as a leading medium for independent filmmaker to reach their audience, and for viewers to get what they want from an online movie experience. Most recently, the site has attracted Dukes of Hazzard icon John Schneider, who recently shared his well-received family film Collier & Co. to get it in front of viewers that would have otherwise missed out on it.
