Jake Gyllenhaal to appear in Prisoners
Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in 'Prisoners'.
The 31-year-old actor is looking to re-team with his 'An Enemy' director Denis Villeneuve in the thriller, in which he would play a detective investigating the kidnapping of a young girl and her best friend in a small town.
If he accepts the role, Jake will star alongside recently-cast Melissa Leo and Hugh Jackman in the film.
The actress' role has not been specified but the 'Wolverine' actor is to portray the distraught father of the missing girl, who takes the law into his own hands when he is dissatisfied with the work of police, and ends up kidnapping the man he believes to be responsible for taking the children.
Production on the film is scheduled to begin next year, with Alcon Entertainment planning to release the movie in autumn 2012 through their output deal with Warner Bros..
Jake's current movie 'End Of Watch' has just topped the US box office and will be released in the UK on November 23.
