James Franco wanted for Good People
James Franco is being targeted to star in 'Good People'.
The '127 Hours' actor is the frontrunner to take on one of the lead roles in the crime thriller, which is being adapted from Marcus Sakey's book of the same name.
The film is about a couple who get into debt thanks to a string of unsuccessful fertility treatments, but think their problems are over when they find the tenant in the apartment below has passed away and left $400,000 in cash in the building.
However, when they take the money, bad things begin to happen.
The film - whose script is set to be penned by Kelly Masterson - will be directed by Henrik Genz for Millennium Films.
Ben Forkner, Tobey Maguire, Matthew Plouffe, Thomas Gammeltoft, Mark Gill, and Ed Cathell are producing, while Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, and John Thompson are executive producing.
It is unclear as yet when the film will begin shooting.
James can next be seen in 'Oz: The Great and Powerful', before appearing as himself in Seth Rogen's comedy 'The End of the World'. His turn portraying Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in Linda Lovelace biopic 'Lovelace' is also due for release some time in 2013
