Sam Raimi to direct Poltergeist remake?
Sam Raimi looks set to direct a remake of 'Poltergeist'.
The 'Spider-Man' helmer has been attached to produce the reboot of the 1982 classic horror movie - which sees a family's home get invaded by ghosts - for several months and it now appears he could also be directing the motion picture, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
In an interview with the publication, David Lindsay-Abaire - who is penning the script to the upcoming 'Poltergeist' film - suggests Sam will be adding to his producing role for the project.
David and Sam are due to collaborate on 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz' prequel 'Oz: The Great And Powerful', which stars James Franco in the titular role as well as Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz, and is due for release on March 8, 2013.
The movie is Sam's first project since 2009's supernatural horror 'Drag Me to Hell', which followed on from him directing a trio of 'Spider-Man' films between 2002 and 2007, which saw Tobey Maguire in the lead role, and also starred Kirsten Dunst as his love interest Mary Jane Watson and Franco as his best friend.
