James McAvoy pushing Professor X
James McAvoy wants to "push" the character of Professor X in 'X-Men: First Class'.
The Scottish actor portrays the younger version of the role made famous by Sir Patrick Stewart in the previous 'X-Men' movies in the new prequel and he wants to make sure he is very different from the original.
He told Empire magazine: "That character's a bit of a monk. What's the f**king opposite of that? Let's not make him a monk. Let's make him really enjoy a drink and he'll read the mind of a girl, get her favourite drink and then order it for her.
"He's got his shtick. He's so different from how he is in the other movies. I'm willing to push it as far as we can go."
The 31-year-old star has previously revealed he has been "liberated" from playing the role based on Patrick because he was told he didn't have to shave his hair.
He said: "It started off with the fact that we were going to shave my hair and the studio said, 'Don't shave your hair,' so immediately I said, 'Well f**k it, I'm liberated then.'"
