Jean-Claude Van Damme is a well-known action movie star and martial artist. He immigrated to the United States in 1982 to pursue a career in film and achieved success with the 1988 flick Bloodsport. Following a few flops he was able to attain more mainstream success with Timecop (1994), which grossed over $100 million worldwide and became Van Damme's most financially successful film.

From the late 80's to the early 90's he starred in a string of hit action movies, including 1989's Kickboxer, Double Impact (1991), Universal Soldier (1992), Hard Target (1993).
