J.J. Abrams is a television and film producer, writer, director, actor, and composer. Over the last decade, he's achieved success within the genres of science fiction, action and drama. His first feature film as a director was Mission: Impossible III (2006). Since then, he's directed and/or produced the movies Star Trek (2009), Super 8 (2011), and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), the latest installment in the Mission: Impossible film series.

Abrams is also credited with being the driving force behind the hit TV show "Lost", which he executive produced and co-directed during its run from 2004-2010.
