Joseph Gordon-Levitt's film 'Don Jon's Addiction' has landed a deal with Relativity Media.

The 31-year-old 'Dark Knight Rises' actor has made his directing debut with the upcoming comedy and is now being backed by the production company, who have invested $4 million plus $25 million in prints and advertising to help the film show in 2000 US cinemas this summer.

Joseph stars in the film as online porn addict Jon Martelloe - whose life takes a turn after he leaves the comfort of his laptop to set out on a quest for something more fulfilling - and although creating a mass audience for the storyline was considered a ''long shot'', he is grateful for the support from Relativity.

He told Deadline.com: ''I always intended this to be a movie for a mass popular audience. Everyone told me it was a long shot. Now Relativity is making it happen. I admire them for putting their money where their mouth is. And I couldn't possibly be more grateful.''

The cast includes Brie Larson, Tony Danza, Julianne Moore and Scarlett Johansson - who Joseph has praised as being ''fantastic'' in the film.

He explained: ''Scarlett is fantastic in the movie, you've never seen her do anything like this before. She's got a whole other character - her voice, her nails, everything.''
