"Jurassic Park 4" on hold
'Jurassic Park 4' has been delayed indefinitely.
The fourth installment in the dinosaur adventure series - which is being directed by Colin Trevorrow and produced by Steven Spielberg - had been scheduled for release in June 2014, but studio Universal have now confirmed the movie has been pushed back to allow the crew more time to create the ''best possible'' film.
The studio said in a statement: ''Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth instalment in Universal's beloved franchise. We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise's storied history.''
According to Variety, the film has been put on hold for several reasons, including to allow the director and his regular co-writer Derrick Connelly more time to work on Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver's script, and because casting - which has seen Bryce Dallas Howard and David Oyelowo linked with the project - has taken longer than expected.
