Robert De Niro set for Killing Season
Robert De Niro is set to team up with John Travolta in 'Killing Season'.
The 'Meet the Parents' actor is set to play an American military veteran in the action movie, which sees his alter-ego living in a remote cabin in the woods that is visited by a European tourist (Travolta) who wants to get revenge.
The pair strike up an unlikely friendship before descending into a one-on-one battle across the Appalachian Mountains.
Avi Lerner - co-chairman of production company Nu Image - is "excited" to see the onscreen chemistry between the two stars.
He said: "We're excited to be co-financing and co-producing this film with Corsan, and to be working again with Robert De Niro and John Travolta.
"We've never seen these two great actors on screen together before, and we're excited to see what comes of the combination."
The movie will be directed by Mark Steven Johnson and written by Evan Daugherty, with Corsan Pictures and FilmEngine set to begin production on the project on January 16.
Paul Breul, Corsan's CEO, added: "I've loved this project from the moment I read Evan Daughterty's remarkable script.
"It's thrilling, imaginative, unexpected and dominated by two extraordinary characters on a collision course. I'm very pleased this film is moving into production and to be partnered with Avi Lerner and his team at Millennium."
