Drew Barrymore to direct drama The End
Drew Barrymore is to return to directing in drama movie 'The End'.
The 'Grey Gardens' actress - whose last helmed movie was her directorial debut in 2009 film 'Whip It' - will take charge of the disaster movie, which focuses on a number of characters as they reconcile their fate before the world ends.
The motion picture is expected to be uplifting and humanistic and concentrates on characters such as a 60-something radio DJ in London who is determined to see out his broadcasting career until Earth's final day, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Aron Eli Coleite has penned the script for the film, which will also focus on a father in Tokyo attempting to reach his wife and baby before the world comes to a close, as well as a teenage couple in the US who can't agree on which of their families to visit before the end.
Drew is not expected to star in the movie as well as direct, as she did in comedy-drama 'Whip It' alongside Ellen Page and Kristen Wiig, while the 37-year-old beauty has been lined up to helm romantic-comedy 'How to Be Single' and produce young-adult thriller 'Heist Society'.
