Malin Akerman wants to team up with Tilda
A big screen adaptation of the hit Broadway jukebox musical that celebrates the '80s heyday of rock n' roll. Directed by Adam Shankman, the movie follows waitress Sherrie Christian (Julianne Hough) and busboy Drew Boley (Diego Boneta) who fall in love during the glam metal era of the 1980s. Rounding out the ensemble cast list are actors Tom Cruise (who plays rock star Stacee Jaxx), Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin & Malin Akerman.
Malin Akerman would love to work with Tilda Swinton.
The 'Rock of Ages' actress often gets starstruck working with big names but would relish the opportunity to work with some of the world's biggest known leading ladies.
He said: ''I do still get excited by working with big names. You have that initial moment of, 'Oh my goodness, I'm going to work with Tom Cruise!' and then you meet him and in 10 minutes you realise you're both just in this together, two actors who are really as nervous and excited to be on a new journey. Any starstruck feelings go away and you become partners in crime.
''My dream now is to work on a big film with Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett.''
Malin is now working on a number of films, including the role of porn actress Linda Lovelace in 'Inferno', and she admits she has had little time to focus on the rest of her life recently.
She added: ''There's not much breathing time right now. I haven't come up for oxygen much. Most of the films have been independent, so don't take that long to film, but there have been lots of 18 hour days.''
