Jena Malone confirmed for Catching Fire
Jena Malone has been officially confirmed for 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire'.
The actress will take on the role of tribute Johanna Mason in the follow up to the hugely successful first movie which tells the story of people forced to fight to the death on TV for entertainment, Lionsgate have confirmed.
According to the official press release ''Lionsgate and the filmmakers of ''The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' are pleased to announce that Jena Malone has been cast in the role of Johanna Mason in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' worldwide smash hit novel 'Catching Fire'.
''Johanna Mason is a female victor from a past Games still in her early twenties, and is one of the youngest, but also one of the most psychologically scarred Quarter Quell [75th Annual Hunger Games] participants.
Jena reportedly beat off competition from Mia Wasikowska and newcomer Zoe Aggelik for the coveted role alongside stars including Liam Hemsworth, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson.
The movie will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force along with producer Jon Kilik.
'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' is scheduled for release on November 22, 2013.
